Since graduating from Sinclair with an associate’s in Visual Communications I’ve accumulated over 3+ Years of working experience in the field from working on newspapers to making books for companies like P&G, Pfizer, and Tesla.

At Bookfactory I make books for various clients / companies, I start by getting the specs from our sales reps for what the customer wants. Then using their specs I create the file from scratch or from a preexisting template. I apply any changes they may want to the template (if applicable) and use their branding if requested and once the file is built we have the client proof the book. Once the book is approved I take the built file and make the book print ready for the press by setting up bleeds and crop marks depending on the job. The press prints the jobs and then it runs through production being cased in and bound.
I also do various graphic design for employees and managers for events and new signs that need to be made.
At Civitas I created newspapers using templates for various publications throughout the Dayton area as well as places as far down as North Carolina where Civitas is based. I worked closely with editors of each paper to put stories in the right areas, create captivating headlines, and proof everything to make sure stories didn’t have any blatant spelling or grammatical errors. Once the paper was approved I sent the paper to the press room where hundreds would be printed and sent out to our areas of readership.

As a Plan-o-gram Team Member I would be responsible for setting up the stocking the aisles in the store. We would get blueprints on what needed to be done to each section then make those changes and stock up any new items that would be added.
I usually spent my time in a different section of the store every day, while helping customers and others when needed. I had to make sure the areas were all cleaned up at the end of the day and presentable.
